Netflix, on Tuesday (January 25, 2022), released a new documentary detailing the meteoric rise of Brazilian football star, Neymar.

Dubbed “Neymar: The Perfect Chaos,” the three-part docuseries, directed by David Charles Rodrigues, gets up close and personal with soccer star Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, tracks his rise to fame at Santos, his glory days at FC Barcelona and the rollercoaster ride with the Brazilian National team and with Paris Saint-Germain.

A live preview for the docu-series attracted more than 500,000 streaming views yesterday night in the South American nation. The first episode of the highly anticipated three-part series was broadcast on streaming service Twitch in Brazil and drew 530,000 simultaneous viewers ahead of its official premiere.

The series chronicles criticism of the Brazilian forward, with Neymar at one point saying: “I am much more criticized than I deserved and sometimes it’s difficult.”

The series also depicts his relationship with his 10-year-old son Davi, and his father, from whom he inherited his name. In an excerpt from the series, Neymar’s father assures watchers that his son has “seven or eight” years left in his career.

All while lifting the veil behind Neymar’s marketing machine, led with a tight grip by his father. This star-studded series features interviews with Beckham, Messi, Mbappé and many other legends, as they weigh in on Neymar’s place in sports history.

The film was executive produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Devin Johnson, Daniel Sillman, Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, Ross M. Dinerstein, Ross Girard and Angus Wall.
