Poultry work is a means of livelihood in our economy. According to Issac Nunoo an agricultural economist, selling specific parts of the chicken will increase the profit of poultry farmers.
He said “They can go into selling specific parts like it is imported from other countries. They should put them in parts and sell them to consumers because not everyone can afford a whole chicken. This will increase level of sale and consumption of poultry products.” Speaking at a poultry youth employment and business boot camp, he urged the youth to take in poultry farming as a career option.
The three day boot camp seeks to educate young entrepreneurs on the poultry value chain. The camp was organized by the US Department of Agriculture under the Ghana Poultry Project.
