‘Emily In Paris’ star Lucien Laviscount might take on another role very soon.
The English actor, best known for portraying Alfie in the Netflix series starring Lily Collins, has been added to the actors’ up to be the next Doctor Who. The current Doctor, played by English actress Jodie Whittaker, is about to say goodbye to fans, and the searc for a new incarnation of the character has already begun.
‘Emily In Paris’ Star Lucien Laviscount Could Become The Next Doctor Who
According to gambling company William Hill, Laviscount, who also appeared on BBC series ‘Waterloo Road’ and soap ‘Coronation Street’, is priced at 12-1 to become the new Time Lord.
The time-travelling alien character is at its fourteenth iteration, following in the footsteps of the likes of David Tennant and Matt Smith.
As Whittaker will bow down, ‘Doctor Who’ current showrunner Chris Chibnall will also be handing over the Tardis keys to previous writer Russell T. Davies after two final ‘Doctor Who’ special episodes due to air this year.
Alongside Laviscount, the ‘Doctor Who’ odds sees ‘It’s A Sin’ star Lydia West among the favorites for the role. West has worked with new Davies in the past, so it wouldn’t be impossible for the actress to be cast in the coveted role.
West’s ‘It’s A Sin’ co-stars, Omari Douglas and Olly Alexander are also in the race.
Laviscount Celebrated ‘Emily In Paris’ Being Renewed For Season Three And Four
Laviscount made his ‘Emily In Paris’ debut in season two, introducing his charming Alfie to fans of the show created by Darren Star. Spoilers ahead if you haven’t caught up with the new episodes just yet.
An Englishman in Paris, Alfie meets Collins’ Emily in French class and the two don’t immediately hit it off. Alfie thinks Emily’s unconditional love of Paris is too romantic and naive, but he’ll change his mind thanks to Emily’s infectious enthusiasm.
When Emily promises Camille (Camille Razat) she won’t try to get with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), the protagonist gets closer to Alfie and the two start dating. At the end of the season, the English businessman needs to get back to London, but suggests he and Emily go the distance, something she initially agrees to. After a change of heart, however, Ms Cooper decides to open her heart to Gabriel, only to find out he and Camille had gotten back together. Ouch.
Will Emily and Alfie stay together? Fans have two more seasons to find out.
